Delicious! The sour cream adds a 'cream cheesy' flavour. I will definately make this again! Tastes great warm, fresh out of the oven with a glass of milk! Yum!

YUMMY!!!!! I loved it and I am thinking about making it again- just made it a few days ago. I used part sour cream, part buttermilk because I didn't have enough sour cream. I also used alittle less than 2 sticks of unsalted butter because that's all I had. and I mixed alittle wheat germ and flax seed meal to flour to make me feel like it was a tiny bit healthy! it was soooo good!!!

My mother-in-law makes the "best" coffee cake. My husband says the cake part was better and if there was 2x as much crumble it would be even better.

I had some "user error" issues (accidently baked it in a 9x9 - duh), but could tell that is an amazing coffee cake!! Everyone at our coffee club especially enjoyed the topping. Will deffinately make this again.

this is one of the best recipes for coffee cake that i have found, you can also make it sugar free by substituting splenda for the sugars and it's just as good.

The best coffee cake I've homemade. I tried several recipes at Christmas time so that I could decide which one to make for my neighbors - this was the winner!

Just like other reviewers have said: melt in your mouth good! This was my first try at finding a classic coffee cake recipe and I am stopping here. I doubled the topping and it was terrific.

This coffee cake was nice and moist. I made them as Christmas gifts in small loaf tins. I didn't have any pecans or nuts on hand so I just added a little extra flower and didn't melt the butter so it would be a streusel topping. When I blended the sour cream with the butter the batter looked like it was made up of very tiny bits of butter. Was the sour cream supposed to be brought to room temperature before incorporation? My cake wasn't "light and fluffy" as some other reviewers said their's were. In any case the cake was still moist and delicious.

What a fantastic cake! Unlike some other reviewers, my topping did not sink into the top (even though I almost doubled the topping portion). I really think that the trick is to whip the butter really well and easy does it with folding in the flour.

this recipe was pretty good the topping was great i liked the cake but my mom wasnt sure she liked it she thought it tasted funny.this was very simple to follow and make the cooking time took a lil longer than 30-35 mins though but that may gave been because i was using a round cake pan but all in all it was a very sweet desert i may make this again.

I did as another person suggested and used a bundt pan. I used half the batter and then the filling and then the other half of the batter. ( I greased and floured the pan first )I wanted a smaller cake because I do not have alot of room for it. It does take alot longer, I checked it every 5 minutes or so to see if it was done. When it was finally done, I found it was alittle hard to get out of the pan, even with a rubber spatula loosening things up and it lacked the attractiveness I would want for guests. If you mix some icing sugar and milk together for a glaze and spoon it overtop it looks much better. But, be careful, the cake will stick to the first plate you set it on...so, I was very careful how I spooned the glaze over top.My husband and my daughter both think this recipe is better than boughten cinnamon danishes. I would definitely recommend it. It may be a bit tricky, but it's worth it!

I made this recipe and everyone just loved it. It takes a bit to make it - my only complaint is how much butter it has - I hate to know how many calories it has! Everyone had two pieces!

Really loved this. Made it in a bundt pan and cooked for 1 hour. I poured 1/2 mix, then topping, then remaining mix. I also doubled the brown sugar & butter in the topping. Make sure you use flour if making in a bundt pan cause the extra topping seeped out a little and stuck in a spot - but didn't ruin this great cake!
