My entire family loves this. Ive made it several times just as the recipe is written and varied it a couple of times as well by adding just a handful of shredded old cheddar, grapes instead of raisins and almonds as well as the sunflower seeds. I always make a double batch and we never have leftovers!

Made if for a potluck and had no leftovers! (I used red wine vinegar- couldn't find white, low fat mayo, grapes, more broccoli and less bacon)

I'm not only impressed with this salad, I'm impressed with the great reviews it got! Congratulations to JJohn32! I've also done a similar salad in the past that includes peanut butter! Terrific as well! And a real surprise to anyone who eats it for the first time!

We really like this, but have made some minor changes. Instead of raisins, we use Craisins (dried cranberries). Also, after the second batch, we decided to omit the bacon. Matbe its because we used turkey bacon, but we really prefer the flavor without. Its very easy and yummy though, and great alongside a turkey burger recipe I found on this site (Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers).

Perfect! I didn't have white wine vinegar, so I substituted with apple cider vinegar. Yummy!

Great recipe ... I've made it several times. The only change I made is I cut the sugar down to 1 tablespoon ....the raisins already gave a "sweet" flavor to the salad ... I've added shredded x-sharp cheese a few times and enjoyed that as well ... Thank You!!!!

This is one of my all time favourite salad recipes! The only thing I do differently is I add Craisins instead of Raisins as we are not a fan of Raisins in our house! I also add toasted Almonds! Love Love LOVE this salad!

This is so good, I've made it without the raisins, bacon, and sunflower seeds - just broccoli and onions and the dressing. Honestly, I don't think toasting the sunflower seeds adds any flavor, just a little time to the prep, so I don't do that any more.

I read what a hit this salad was, but I was shocked at how fast it went! I cheated. I used precooked bacon bits (in a bag in the salad dressing section of the store). Didn't toast the sunflower seeds, either. I added a handful of shredded cheese for color. Mixed it all up the night before...YUMMY! Will make again...and again...and again!!!!

Good recipe, I gave it 4 stars because I changed the recipe some. Cut the Mayo in half and added a 1/2 C of Sour Cream and a dash of Ranch. It also makes a huge difference if you blanch the veg 1st.

Good broccoli salad, though a little sweet. I'll make this again, only omitting the sugar. The cranberries gave it just enough sweetness that the added sugar was unnecessary. I served this with Ruby Drive sloppy joes and cajun-spiced tater tots.

Yummy! I did not use the raisins or the sunflower seeds. I was skeptical of using the mayo thought maybe I should use ranch, but went ahead and followed the recipe and was happy that I did. Very good will make again. Thank you

dELICIOUS, after a few changes :) used Almonds (the ones that are already sliced in a bag, honey roasted ones) in place of sunflower seeds, halved grapes instead of raisins, NO bacon, and mild cheddar cheese, used SPLENDA.

Awesome salad! I used regular white vinegar and 3 T. sugar....about 3 smallish broccoli heads, red grapes (halved) instead of raisins (but I know raisins are delicious also, I just had the grapes on hand), and toasted walnuts instead of sunflower seeds. So yummy!

I have been cooking from this website for several years and this is the first review I have done. I went to a local restaurant for lunch and they had broccoli salad and I wanted to make this for my family for dinner and this is the recipe I used. my family told me that this is totally a remake. We really enjoyed your recipe and thank you for posting. The only thing we did different was we used currant instead of raisins.
