The best lasagne I have ever had. A tip from my nana use 1 lb of beef and 1/2 lb of ground pork it's an old family secret. Another change to save time and dishes saute the onion and garlic then add the meat to that pan and cook together, it makes less dishes and infuses the flavour. I added a little salt and hot sauce to the mixture.

Fantastic! I absolutely loved this recipe. I followed it precisely. However, I did not have enough meat sauce for the third layerr. For the serving required, I suggest another jar of sauce and another 1/2 lb of ground bee. Otherwise, it was fabulous!

Absolutely delicious, I added an extra small jar of sauce and used 1 lb ground beef one 1 lb sausage, everything else I did the same. I love lasagna and this is one of the best recipes I've discovered. I will be using this again!

I sauted the onions and garlic in with the meat. Then added 1 jar of sauce along with 1 can of stewed tomatoes., tomato paste and parm cheese. It was so hot I cooked on the grill. I also skipped the provolone. Next time I'll add more sauce.

This is a fantastic lasagna everybody. Perfect for picky eaters too! We've been gobbling up the leftovers. I customized the recipe for a serving of 5 (small household) and used 1/2 lb of beef and 1/3 of Jimmy's ground sausage instead of sausage flavored sauce (just used regular spahetti sauce). For those that are confused about the oregano mishap in the recipe, I used 1/2 teaspoon in all the oregano mentioned area's and it seemed to turn out just fine. For anyone who had trouble finding or creating shredded provolone cheese--I bought sliced provolone and minced it into tiny squares--worked great! I hate trying to create my own meals, so this has been a real treat for my house. Thanks Alysia for your recipe. We in sunny california appreciated it.

I thought this was great, and more importantly my guests and hard-to-please husband raved over it. One thing that was confusing is that oregano is listed in the ingredients twice, but used in three places (meat, sauce and cheese). I wound up guessing, but it didn't hurt anything.

I'm not what I would call an expert lasagna taster but I think this was pretty darn good. I seldom order it in resturants but this recipe is as good if not better than the resturant's. I did change a couple of things... I added a package of Jimmy Dean sasuage and maybe a little more onions than called for ('cause I like onions). I also precooked the lasagna about 5 minutes in boiling water, just enough to make it soft and absorb some of the water. This prevented the lasagna pasta from soaking up all the sauce. This made the lasagna very moist and very tasty. My wife had seconds and said it was really good. I thought it was pretty good also! This was the first time I've made lasagna and I thought it was fairly easy to make and it's as good as any you will find in a resturant!

This is a great recipe! It's not necessarily quick, but it is easy. I have made it several times and have gotten nothing but compliments. Not only that, but my very-picky-eater daughter-in-law asked for the recipe!
