Very, very good - with a little tweaking as good as the higher fat banana breads I've made from this site. I used 1 cup white and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour. added a few dashes of cinnamon and nutmeg and a pinch of salt. Used 3 medium, very ripe bananas and the bread turned out really moist and perfectly sweetened. Note: for those who said it turned out rubbery... you over stirred.

Excellent recipe for a low fat banana bread. I followed others suggestions and left out sugar, used 1/2 cup of splenda, 1 egg beater, 3 bananas, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp vanilla and added walnuts. The bread had good consistency and flavor. I much prefer adding butter, sugar and eggs but we are watching our diet these days and this was a very flavorful replacement.

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ALMOST NO FAT, I STILL EXPECTED IT TO BE BETTER THAN IT WAS. I DID MAKE SOME MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO THE RECIPE AS SUGGESTED BY OTHER REVIEWS. I DON,T THINK I WOULD MAKE IT AGAIN.

This is just fabulous! I altered the recipe a little by adding about 1-2 tbs cinnamon, 1/2 cup walnuts, 1 cup craisins, 1 apple diced. I also baked for 40-50 minutes since I'm using a 9x5 loaf pan. Our family of four has been eating a whole loaf everyday.

Anyone who likes "real" banana bread will probably not like this low-fat recipe. Mine was a tad rubbery. I did add salt and vanilla and also added a mixture on brown sugar and water sprinkled on the top of it before baking. That was a nice addition.

I'll be making this again since the first loaf disappeared so fast! No one could even guess that this was low fat. I followed the advice of others and added a bit of salt and about a tsp of vanilla, alos upped the cinamon to a full tsp. Next time I will definately add walnuts though.

LOVE it! I added the salt, vanilla, and a small, chopped apple as recommended by others. I also used 1/3 cup of apple butter instead of applesauce then sprinkled the top with my Pampered Chef chocolate hazelnut sprinkles. YUM!

The first time I made this recipe to the T. I added vanilla and nutmeg as recommended as well. It was a little dry. The secong time I upped the applesauce and added chopped apple and walnuts and the difference was 10 fold. The apples add that little bit of extra moisture needed. All in all a great recipe.

Not what I expected. It tasted ok but it was more rubbery than moist. Not worth my time.

This recipe is a good base. I followed suggestions from other reviewers and added salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. I also mixed the dry ingredients first and then mixed in the wet. I increased the apple sauce to 1/3rd cup. I also put a crumble mixture on top (brown sugar, butter and cinnamon) to give the crust a crunchy texture. The bread is a little rubbery, but still good.

Good jumping off recipe for a low fat banana bread! I did add a 1/2 tsp of nutmeg, increased applesauce to 1/3 cup, added 2 tsp of vanilla, and 1/2 tsp of salt and used 3 very ripe bananas and replaced the sugar with splenda. Turned out yummy!

I liked this recipe. It's definitely not too sweet and because I can't chew nuts right now, I dumped 5 handfuls of walnuts into the blender while I peureed the bananas. That added to the flavor quite nicely. Next time, I'll double the recipe so I can send a loaf home with my granddaughters when they stop by after school. They like Grandmas baking and I like to give hem something different each time they come to my home.

YUM! Made this recipe as muffins and they came out great with a couple of changes/additions that other users suggested: I used whole wheat flour instead of white, 3 bananas, 1/3 c applesauce, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 cup pecans. I mixed wet and dry ingredients separately and then incorporated them together. Hard to believe these are healthy!!

I added 1/2 teaspoon salt and a teaspoon vanilla extract. Could have a bit more taste but I think it is due to the bananas I had, not being ripe enough.

Interesting to find butter/oil is not needed. I didn't add much sugar to the cake mixture since the applesauce (1 cup mashed apples + 1 cup water + 1/4 c brown sugar) is sweet enough. Added instant oatmeal as well. Increased the salt to 1 tsp as well. This is healthy and tasty. Not rubbery at all.

This was a good banana bread. Like the others mentioned, it was a bit dry and the crust was slightly rubbery. I didn't over mix, and I used two bananas. I also added extra apple sauce and a pinch of salt and vanilla. Very easy recipe!
