Had this recipe for years but I use white wine vinegar. Think the carmalized almond make the salad

This was a great salad for a hot summer day. I followed the recipe exactly except didn't sugar coat the almonds, used red leaf lettuce and no celery, because I didn't have any. I will make this again. A good change from typical tossed salad.
