This is a wonderful and easy recipe, especially for a meat to take to a big gathering or a big family get together. I did cut the milk in half for the meatballs and added about 1/2 cup brown sugar to the sauce before I even started cooking. For a quick quick meal...buy frozen meatballs and make this sauce. I soaked my meatballs in the sauce overnight and just cooked them for about 3 hours, really just long enough to get warm enough to eat. I had just as many rave reviews with the frozen, already cooked meatballs and I did for those I made. It is definitely a family keeper!!!

I've made this recipe before and the sauce is ok. I prefer to instead add one bottle each of bbq and chili sauce. I also prefer to bake the meatballs so I can drain the fat. What DO I like then? I love the fact that it has a whole cup of oats. It is a really economical way to stretch the meat and oats are so good for you too! I had no problems with the amount of milk, as some did.

I followed the recipe just as it was shown, they smelled good and tasted good also. My fault with this recipe is the grease..... it cooks right into your balls and you never notice it. yuk ... I became phy. ill later that evening due to these " grease balls"

I am giving this recipe 5 stars because my 8 year old LOVED them. I followed the suggestion of others and used less milk. I also used brown sugar in place of white and used a little more sugar than the recipe called for. My husband and I loved them too. I will definately make them again.

This was very good. The milk does need to be cut back a bit otherwise they fall apart easier.

I thought these were good but they needed something else added to them and they came out a little to mushy. Maybe some noodles or pineapple and green peppers would have made it better but thanks for posting it as they were very easy to make and can be modified easily.

I'm gonna have to go with a middle-of-the-road rating on this one...While they came out lovely tender, in future I'll be making several changes...First, I'll be adding some seasonings to eliminate the sheer BLANDness of these meatballs...Second, I'll cut back the milk to ¾ cup to reduce the excess WETness of the meatball mixture...I'll also skip the ketchup based sauce and replace it with either sweet + sour sauce OR BBQ sauce OR chili sauce...I also found that they cooked rather quickly, so I'll reduce the cooktime by half, in future...Thank you anyway for posting this recipe, as it gives me a nice jumping off point for many other variations.

5 stars with these changes: Added extra 1/2 - 3/4 cup of ketchup with about two tablespoons of brown sugar about an hour before it was done as the vinegar made the sauce too bitter. The extra ketchup and brown sugar balanced it out nicely. I also cooked on high for 5 hours and they were perfect.

very eh. Edible, didn't have to throw it away, but not appetizing visually or taste wise. A waste of ground beef. Sorry...

These were awesome- really good flavor. Had to modify a bit- thought I had oats, I didn't. Used 1 cup of bread crumbs and cut milk back to 1/2 cup. Also, substituted ground turkey. Excellent meatballs!!

I should have read the reviews before making as I would have known to cut back on the milk. These meatballs were awesome but they were a bit "wet" going into the crockpot and stuck together some. I doubled the recipe but will cut back on the milk next time.

My sister and I made these to serve at a party. We doubled the recipe, and found that the meatballs were very difficult to form because of the liquids in the mixture. They went into the crockpot anyway, and became more "meatlumps" than meatballs. Although not picture perfect, guests raved about the flavor and they were very easy to make! I would definitely prepare these again!

This was an easy and different recipe. The only negative was that it tasted too much like ketchup. It took away from the beef taste. I used the sauce on top of rice, which was tasty.
