I use this recipe for breakfast. I add a little more milk and strawberries. I like really cold smoothies, therefore, I add two ice cubes. It is very filling and delicious!

The first time I made this, the only thing I changed was the use of flaxseed oil instead of actual flaxseed. Since then I have been adding 2 ice cubes, as someone else here had suggested, which helps to reduce the powder-like texture and taste from the protein supplement. This is a great smoothie considering it is hard to find something to mix protein and flaxseed with without having to force yourself to drink it each day. I also add a little bit of Fibersure to make up for the fiber lost by using flaxseed oil rather than the seeds themselves. It is a great way to up your fiber intake. Thanks for the great recipe !!

Yummy. It was a little thick for my personal taste, so i added a little more milk. I used flax seed meal instead of just the seed, vanilla yogurt, and more honey.

Very good much like my primary morning smoothie. Try adding Vanila Soy Milk instead of reg. Milk and skip the honey. Great for a Breakfast on the go.

I didn't use the powder protein supplement, but I used a small liquid packet of revita. I also added 1 tbsp of honey instead of a tsp and a little extra strawberries. This smoothie is AWESOME!

Very good! I used milled flax seed, vanilla yogurt, an unfrozen banana, and frozen MIXED berries. I didn't use protein powder either, it was delicious!

This was good. The changes I made were: I used vanilla yogart, used frozen (thawed) strawberries, & left out the protein powder & flax seed oil because I haven't gotten to the GNC yet. Make sure you cut up the banana & peel it before you freeze it. I had only peeled it & cutting a frozen banana wan't fun. We had this at 6:30am ish & we were hungry around 9 but at least it was good. We'll be making these again.

This is the healthiest and best tasting smoothie I have found. My southern food lovin' husband even loves it and doesn't realize how healthy it is. The only thing I did differently was used light and fit low sugar vanilla yogurt and it was just as good and I love that I'm getting my flax intake. Thank you for the recipe!

I left out the protein powder and used vanilla yogurt instead of plain, otherwise left everything the same. The consistency (just thin enough to easily get through a straw) and amount (16oz) were perfect. I don't like yogurt, but know it's good for me, and this is a way I can stomach it. I put the flax seeds in first and ground them before adding the rest of the ingredients, and this got them well ground. It was enough to fill me up for breakfast.

I use chocolate protein in this and I don't use the flaxseed oil I use the normal flaxseed. I love it and I will make this every day. It's keeps me full for a couple hours.

This recipes is very filling. I subsitiuted the strawberry's for frozen peaches. I found myself feeling satisfied for hours. However, the taste is okay.

Thanks AmyJessica for sharing this cool recipe and getting me started on smoothies! I tried many different flavor combos and they all were very nice. My favorite is vanilla yogurt, 3 whole frozen strawberries and 8-10 pieces of frozen cut mango, 4 tsp flax seed in 1/2 cup skim milk. The smoothies tastes very yumm!

What a great smoothie! The healthy combination of yogurt, protein, fruit, and ground flax seed is perfect. Only changes I made were that I used frozen blackberries, and the 1/2 banana was at room temperature, not frozen. I normally don't really like making smoothies for breakfast because it is too much effort that early in the morning :). However, I think this has become a breakfast staple for me! Thanks so much for the recipe!

I have been making a similar smoothie to this one for years, and I have tweaked it just slightly. I now use powered nonfat milk and 100% fruit juice, such as cherry especially if my arthritis is acting up, and I also grind my flax seed, since it has more health benefits that way, or I use flax seed oil, as another reviewer said. Throwing in a couple of ice cubes with the frozen fruit will cut the thickness you sometimes get with milkshakes.

The first few times I made this smoothie, I wasn't crazy about it because the protein and flax mixed together was too much for me. Then, after seeing another user's review, I replaced the flaxseed with 1 tsp flaxseed oil. It was fabulous. I've been drinking one of these every day for about a month now and have lost about 7 or 8 pounds!
