delicious!! didnt have any all purpose flour in the house so i used a combination of wheat flour and pastry/cake flour for the crust and wheat flour for the topping. if you like cinnamon like i do, definitely add extra! i added some oats and pecans in the topping for some crunch. for the filling i make the sugar/cinnamon mixture first then sliced the apples into it and stirred to avoid browning. when i was done there was a nice syrup. i also added 1.5 TBSP of cornstarch and baked for 1hr. this took care of the juices...thanks to everyone's reviews!

This was so good my dad wouldn't let me take it home with me! He ate the whole thing himself! (not all in one day of course!)

This was my first fruit pie ever and it turned out perfect! I did add the cornstarch and lemon juice and cooked apple filling stovetop for about 15 min. I used cold butter and added a little brown sugar to the topping. This pie is delicious!!

Everyone loved it! I used a pre-made crust & the lemon juice with cornstarch that was recommended by another reviewer. I started making it and realized I didn't have any more cinnamon so used pumpkin pie spice instead. Fantastic pie!

This was my first time making an apple pie or any type of pie for that matter. It was for the most part a success. Tasted heavenly, only problem was that it was extra soupy in the middle. Any suggestions on how to solve that problem?? All in all an amazingly delicious pie. We went out to dinner and one of my husbands relatives ordered apple pie and told me my pie was better. Thanks for this recipe!

I'm not sure what I did wrong but the apples were swimming in melted butter and juice. The taste of the pie was fabulous- no problems there- just not sure I could serve this to company. To the best of my knowledge I followed the instructions but something went wrong.

This recipe is awesome! The pie is beautiful and the taste is fabulous! The only thing I haven't been able to master is how to get the liquid out of it after it's done because it is very runny. This was our first attempt ever at a homemade pie. I never realized it was so easy! I will definitely make this again.

VERY YUMMY! I made this recipes with 4 apples and 2 pears - very good! I will make again!! When making the topping make sure to use soft (room temp - not melted) butter.

The very best!! My daughter and I made this quick and easy pie Thanksgiving day. The only changes we made was to use golden delicious apples and cooked for an extra 1/2 hour. Didn't have a cutter so used hands.

After making this pie, I am now the official pie maker of the family. I have taken over Grandma's job. She even asked for the recipe. I do add a little oatmeal and brown sugar to the topping mix. Also works with a pre-made pie crust on the bottom if you are short on time. Thank you

My first apple pie ever and it was AMAZING! Yum, yum, YUM! I took this to a Thanksgiving get together tonight and everyone loved it! I used a frozen pie crust on the bottom, but other than that, I followed the recipe exactly as written! (I sprinkled extra cinnamon on top too, just for fun!) I am going to be making this delicious apple pie for years!!!

I made this pie in summer, exactly as directed, and loved it. I made it again for Thanksgiving, using 4 apples and 1 cup sour cherries, and finished as directed. It was a nice variation, and still tasted great. Remember to cook stove top for 15 or 20 minutes. yum!
