Great, easy recipe. Served it at a BBQ and everyone liked it. I skipped the sugar altogether, used apple cider vinegar instead, replaced dried dill with fresh dill and added tomatoes.

I thought this was great. Not too sour, not too sweet. Easy to make. Great recipe for cucumbers when they go on sale!!!!!

Pretty good! A little sweeter than what I was looking for. Next time I will probably use apple cider vinegar and cut the sugar substantially. All in all though a good, simple salad! (Give it plenty of time to chill!)

This was such a delicious and simple recipe! I reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup, and used slightly less than 1 tablespoon of dill, otherwise I didn't change a thing. Like other reviewers, I salted the cucumbers first before adding the vinegar dressing. Yum!

I used a red onion because that is my family's preference. I let this marinade for several hours, doubled the recipe to serve at a cook-out and it went over so well that people wanted more. I made and did not have time to let the next batch marinade for long and it went over well. Thanks for a great, easy, delicious recipe.

Yummy! I halved the recipe and used a whole onion. Marinated all day. Served it with the slow cooker buffalo chicken sandwiches. It was really tasty and went well with the sandwich!

This is a very easy and quick recipe for a side dish. I made a huge bowl for a BBQ, and everyone loved it. The sugar adds the sweetness and hides some of the vinegar tartness. Perfect for a nice summer side salad/dish.

Didn't have time to marinate for entire hour, but delicious nonetheless. Peeled entire cucumber.

This is such a quick and easy recipe, I used green onions instead of white because my sister doesn't do well with raw onions...and it worked out well. I may cut down to 1/2 cup of sugar next time, it was yummy but just a little too sweet for my taste.

I have done this very similar style salad the only difference with my salad is that I actually grate the cucumbers. And when possible I use English cucumbers. I have never added the dill either.

Great recipe, exactly what I was looking for. Nice sourness from the vinegar, sweetness from the sugar and crisp, freshness from the cucumber. I didn't have any dill, but I'm sure it would only make it better!

I used the suggestion about using 1 tablespoon of salt to draw out the excess water from the cucumbers. Worked like a charm and I didn't have white vinegar so I used apple cider vinegar and put the dill in with the boiling liquid. Added a few tomatoes. My boyfriend at it up like there was no tomorrow. We loved it so much that I'll make it exactly the same way next time!
