I HATE squash but my husband likes it so I tried this recipe out on him. He loved it but the kids and I almost threw up from the texture. If you like squash then chances are you will like this recipe.

Fabulous! Based on other reviews I added bacon and put the cut side up for 60 minutes at 350 with all the stuff already inside. Even the hubby who doesn't like squash said to make this again!

So simple, yet so AWESOME! I find it hard to make recipes without tweaking, but I made this recipe as written and it was perfect. The smell of the brown sugar and butter when I opened the oven door was intoxicating!

Easy and delicious! It smells and tastes a lot like a Halloween pumpkin. I didn't change a thing, and it was perfect.

The only way I ever prepare acorn squash. Always good. Always a "5".

This was EXCELLENT! My boyfriend had never had squash before, so I made this and he couldn't get enough. I made it a little differently. I cooked face down in the beginning like the recipe calls for, but then melted butter all over each side & sprinkled cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hearty spoonful of brown sugar on each 1/2. then cooked "meat" side up in oven for 15 min then covered w foil and continued to cook for another 15 min. Came out perfectly!

Good recipe, but the squash takes SSSOOOO long to bake until it is soft. Way over time stated!

This is fantastic and super easy to pop in the oven while you are working on other things. The flavor is addicting . . . you won't want to share! I cut in half, took out insides, put in lined pan flesh side down for 40 min and turned over put in the butter and brown sugar and stacked them together and baked another 30 min. They were perfect! ENJOY!

Easy. Good. I'd never made acorn squash before but this is so good and easy I'll definately make it again. The hardest part about the recipie is cutting the squash in half.

I love squash this way! You can completely skip step 2 and just cook them a little longer with the butter and sugar inside.

I did cook it halved with the butter and brown sugar, covered, for 45 minutes and uncovered for another 10. It was wonderful. I also tried the suggestion on 2 of my 4 halves of adding bacon and I have to say that was a really good addition too. Will make this again in a heartbeat.

My mom has been making this since I was a kid. The only thing she adds is a slice of bacon for each squash half. The salty-smokey flavor of the bacon gives a great kick to the super sweet dish. Trust me, if you don't mind eating meat it's a GREAT addition.

Very good! I used a cinnamon sugar mixture after making another recipe for dessert as well as the brown sugar. It was so good. My 5 year old gobbled it up. We wish we would have put more of the sweet mixture on top, even though that makes it a little less healthy. Will make this often.
