I made this soup for a Christmas "Pot Luck" dinner. Everybody "absolutely" loved it! It was the hit of the evening, and they all begged me for the recipe

Oh my gosh, this soup is so good and flavorful. I made it just as it says to, except I did not puree it. I am not a big fan of mooshed potatoes. It still turned out great. My kids even loved it. I will make this again. It needs NO improvement what so ever.

Absolutely decadent. Recipe turns out perfectly. Instead of putting bacon in during the cooking process, I crumbled the bacon on top for serving...this keeps it crisp.

With a name like "Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup", I had to try it. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing of the 5 star recipes I've tried here. The flavor was bland, oddly enough, almost a faint fishy taste, which I cannot explain. The next day it was very thick and reheating didn't improve texture or flavor. Maybe b/c this is the type of potato soup that isn't topped with cheddar cheese and scallions, more like a baked potato soup, it was bland? Don't know. Went into the circular file, not the success file.

I really hate to say this, but, this was probably the worst soup i have ever eaten, to much prep time with no flavor....

I thought the soup was yummy!! I was a little disappointed though.......my family ate the whole batch of soup the first night so there was no left-overs! Next time I have to make a double batch!!

I made this without the bacon and using half and half instead of cream. I may use milk the next time as it was very creamy. It was a big hit with adults and kids. We sprinkled sharp cheddar over it and it was great!

For those of you (like me) that simply cannot enjoy a meal that has too much fat and cholestorol try this for the authors step #3: 3 TBS margarine (no cholestorol, same amount fat) 1/4 cup flour 1 12 oz can Carnation Evaporated Fat Free Milk (no fat, no cholestorol) I left in the bacon-come on! i'm not that good- and this soup is GREAT!

This recipe was absolutely wonderful. I made it for my daughter who had just had a tonsillectomy and she loved it. Everyone in the house ate every bit of a huge pot in two days. I will definitely continue making this for years to come. Thanks for a great recipe.

This is soooo good. Easy. I've fixed it twice for our football coaches. They love it - a recipe for 12 and the 6 guys clean it up. Had to print off another copy of this for one of them. Just love it - to heck with the calories.

Very good soup. I used Yukon Gold potatoes per other reviews and they were great. I wouldn't make this too often due to the fat content. Thanks for the great recipe.
