I made this tonight and it was great. My husband complimented me several times. I used canned chicken broth with some boullion cubes to make it more flavorful. I also added about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the cream sauce til it blended well. I added more cream to it a little at a time. It was so fulling. Perfect fall meal. I would have to say that the time is inaccurate though. From start to finish incl cooking the bacon it was about 90 mins

I LOVED this soup! I didn't use celery and I increased the amount of cream to two cups. I will most definitely make this again!

this soup was really good. I used only half the baccon it called for because that was what i had. i did not have any of the spices i used chives and paprika. my hubbie said it could use more veggies i think it was great the way it was. and mine was not to thick it was like resteront soup. I put some chopped carrots in it and it tasted great dont blend the carrots with the mixture because it dose not look right add them after you blend the soup and cooked them separate. then just throw the cooked carrots in

I don't usually rate anything as "perfect", but in this case I must. I've made this soup many, many times and it always comes out awesome. The only things I do differently is I use fresh parsley instead of the cilantro, and leave out the tarragon.

I would consider this soup a masterpiece of flavor, this was my very first soup attempt and out of 8 people(one who really wasn't a soup or potato person), everyone said it was absolutely delicious and I would have to agree so with them. The flavors mix together perfectly and you get a little bit of everything in each bite. Overall, I couldn't have chosen a better soup then this!!!

This is absolutely the best soup ever. I just got done making this soup, and followed the recipe exaclty except i didnt have the tarragon or cil. It still came out perfect. Also i added 1 tsp of corn starch to 1/4 cup water and added to the soup after it was totally done just because i like a little bit thicker of soup. A+++++ YUMMY

I have never had potato soup before, but my husband has and loves it, so this was his request. It was very good and we both enjoyed it, but the recipe had some problems - mainly, it was way too thick. Now, this was probably because my potatoes may have been bigger than what the recipe used - who knows? But, it definitely did not need the flour to thicken the cream. So, we ended up having to thin the soup with milk. We minced the cooked bacon in our mini chopper and that was great texturely. The tarragon flavor was super, and we had no cilantro to add, which I think would have ruined the good flavor. Very rich soup but really yummy. My husband says he wants to keep the recipe, just a thinner version. :)

Wonderful! I omitted tarragon and cooked my onions in butter instead of fat. I also added 1 and a half cups sharp cheddar. Tasted so great even my picky son loved it and asked for seconds!

I wasn't going to try this recipe because of how difficult it seemed and how many ingredients were involved, but it fed everyone and everyone was sad when it was all gone.

I have never had potato soup except for out of a can, and honestly I thought it was horrible. So I decided to try this recipe and I thought it was great and so did my husband. I did make a few changes. I used half and half instead of the heavy cream and added some chives with the cilantro and just a pinch of the tarragon leaves. It was really good. I also added about a cup of shredded cheddar at the end and garnished my bowl with sour cream. This recipe takes some work, but taste really well.
