A couple weeks ago I tried this recipe, and the brownies turned out alright. The reason I chose this recipe initially is because I accidentally ended up with self-rising flour, and I wanted to bake brownies. The texture did turn out cake-like which was good. I don't feel like it was rich enough, though, but that could have been my second (possibly third) rate chocolate powder. Usually when I bake brownies I prefer to melt chocolate squares or chocolate chips. If you have a chocolate powder you like then this recipe might turn out better for you. I didn't feel they turned out great, but they weren't bad.
I tried the same recipe last week, and they turned out so much better. They disappeared much more quickly than the ones the week before. For some reason these brownies turned out more dense which I felt made them richer. I think I might have not followed the recipe exactly initially because these ones turned out sweeter and richer and my roommate said it was because of the vanilla. I don't have a proper measuring spoon, and I think the one I used the first time was smaller than a teaspoon. So I initially rated these brownies 3 stars, but after the second batch (even with low quality chocolate) I give these brownies 4 stars because the second batch turned out so delicious. Maybe with better chocolate, these brownies can get 5.
