My husband really liked these, but I would have preferred them to be much chocolatier. I've never made brownies from scratch before, so I didn't realise there wasn't as much chocolate as I'd have liked.

I've given 5*s after trying this ABSOLUTELY BEST BROWNIES twice. This is one of my tried and true recipes. I feel it does not need a topping, as it has a hard top layer. My first attempt itself this came out very well. I used all purpose flour and added little less than 1/2 Tspn. of B.powder. My husband and two childed loved this so much. Its so rich and yummy! Thanks a lot Jenn for sharing this with us. Very quick and easy recipe.

These have become a Christmas tradition. I double the recipe--add the cream cheese mixture from "Cheescake Topped Brownies" and top with homemade chocolate buttercream frosting! Absolutly sinful!!!

I didn't have enough cocoa powder on hand, so I melted 3 Baker's semi-sweet chocolate squares and added that to the wet ingredients. They turned out great, although they're more cake like than gooey/fudgy brownies.

These brownies really are the best!!! I mixed mine on the stovetop in the pan I melted the butter in... very easy!! I also added a dash of cinnamon and some chocolate chips, but left out the nuts... Perfect!! They taste like a cup of warm cocoa!! Yumm!!

These are delicious brownies. The only thing I did differently was to take the advice of a few other bakers and use regular flour instead of self rising. I love soft chewy brownies, and these are the ones. Thanks for a great recipe.

This recipe had me all exited based on the other reviews. It was very easy and fast, but it was very dry. Not bad, just not as good as I thought they would be...

My mom who doesn't generally like sweets couldn't stop eating these. They are very rich and almost taste like a chocolate torte. The thing she liked the most about them was that they were so fudgy and dense. They were very easy and quick. Bake them in a pie pan and turn upside down on a cake plate and dust with powered sugar and they look wonderful. I will be making these again. For those of you who are complaining about the dryness just make sure you bake them for EXACTLY the time specified, you WILL think that they are not done but once you let them set for ten minutes they are SOOOOOO moist. Fight your gut on this one and they will turn out wonderful.

These brownies were so easy to make, I doubled the recipe because I had a bigger pan to bake in. My only mistake was adding too much butter, they came out a little greasy, but they were so tasty! I also added a crushed up chocolate bar for extra chocolate flavour. My hubby who isn't a huge fan of chocolate even loved them.

These are the best brownies made from scratch. They are moist, chocolaty, and delicious. I will be cleaning my box of all other brownie recipes and will be replacing it with this one. I changed only the flour, using all purpose. Be sure to cool these completely or they'll seem undercooked. I ate these warmed with pistahio ice cream. Yummy.

The boys at my husband's workplace beg him almost daily to bring in more of these brownies! I first found this recipe to use up some self-rising flour, but feel they are even better with plain flour. They're quick and super-easy to make, and taste delicious! (Especially warm out of the oven with some vanilla ice cream!) If you're wanting them a little more moist with a crunchy top, try making it with only one egg and a splash of milk.

I really like this recipe. It is very easy to throw together with ingredients I already have on-hand, and the results are great. I double this and use a 9x13 pan. When I double it, I also use almost a full cup of cocoa and a tablespoon of instant coffee for a richer chocolate flavor. I add anywhere between 1/2 to a full cup of chopped pecans. These are great as a base for brownie sundaes too!

Fast and Delicious. In the pan with the kitchen cleaned up before oven preheated and their really chewy if you 1/2 margerine,1/2 crisco instead of butter.
