Anyone else notice lately how food prices have realy jumped? I usually buy what I need after perusing the sale ads and making a flexable meal plan and list. Produce prices are NUTS around here. I know a lot is out of season but come on-there must be decent lettuce etc grown in the south and Calif. (nothing fancy or exotic, just everyday produce.) Last week I bought a cheap head of cabbage and served it 2 days because I just couldn't pay $2 for one puny head of romaine or $1.89 for a uninspiring head of iceberg. How is it in the rest of the country? We're in the city in the cold north. Can't wait to get my (small) garden going.
