Hi, re Angela's post and the beans on toast. Baked beans in UK means BEANS, main brand "heinz", --- beans in a tomato sauce sold by every supermarket in own brand.
Toast can be any bread toasted/ normal/loaf/baguette with spresd/ butter. Served according to taste. Some want beans on the toast -- others want beans on side and eat toast separately with them. == It is a very common snack -- light lunch etc, meal loved by all including me with a good brand of beans. Some are tasteless with a thin tasteless liquid.
