Hi to everyone, I made it back home safely this afternoon and found some more appointment reminders that I will do next month. I am doing okay at this time. Thank you to Connie O for the nice card. Christopher was happy to see me when I arrived at the door. Thank you for your prayers and support. The people at the lodge were all very nice and welcoming during my stay there and wished me all the best.

HELP! My father is going through treatments on his esophagus right now that makes it difficult for him to swallow food. I made him a bunch of different soups (pureed so he can swallow), but I know he is getting really sick of soup. Does anyone have any ideas on what else I could make up for him, so he is not surviving on ensure and soup? Many thanks in advance.

Hello. Let me apologize in advance for this question; I've been researching it online and I know the standard response is simply "Don't." My dad bought a beef tenderloin -- a large one, over four pounds IIRC -- for the first time a month or two ago. I'm not sure why; nobody in our family likes rare beef, and my mom simply won't eat it. So we need to find a way of cooking it to well-done without drying it out or toughening it too much. The only solutions I can think of are: 1. Braise it (or put in a slow-cooker) with plenty of liquid. 2. Roast it wrapped tightly in foil. I have no pressure cooker or sous-vide equipment. I'd been hoping to make a beef Wellington for Christmas dinner.

hey soupy, 1. did you proof the yeast? in warm water, with at least 1 tsp sugar. Sometimes the yeast is old, check the expiration date. 2. did you check the water temperature, can't be over 115 Fahrenheit or the yeast will die off.

Question: (3 answers)

I recently made a pot of split pea soup and had a question about the ham...I make this soup for me only so I feel buying a ham with a ham bone is much too big. Would just a slice of ham do just fine? I really wanted to have the bone for flavor; also any suggestions of brand or cut of ham? Thanks Sweetie Cakes

Pablitos Tacos sound great. I do have a question. The video lists 2 teaspoons baking SODA, while the ingredient list specifies baking POWDER. Can anyone clarify please?

I am a diabetic. I would like to have recipes I can make, especially a good old fashion pound cake. I tried making it with Truvia baking blend and it floped. Does allrecipes have a recipe site for diabetics?
