Question: (4 answers)

What is the secret to cutting brownies cleanly without having them fall apart?!!! This happens every time I make brownies, whether I use a mix or not. Today I made the "Mmmm brownies" recipe (on this site), which is wonderful. Still, they would not cut cleanly. I waited over an hour after they were finished to start cutting into them.

URGENT TIMELY ANSWER NEEDED!!!! I just made a double batch of SLOW COOKER TEXAS PULLED PORK. Thirteen family members (including five young grandchildren) will be at my home this Sunday for Father's Day and three birthday celebrations. I changed the serving number from 8 to16 and needed to use 2 slow cookers. I mistakingly left the servings doubled and actually put double of all ingredients in both cookers!! Result..... TOO much Chile powder, EXTREMELY HOT. Is there something that I could add to reduce the HEAT??? This Gramma needs your help. ASAP. THANK YOU

Totally OT....but never the less I'm looking to move this summer. I hate living in FL. HATE IT! INside I've made a bullet point list of what I'm hoping for. Sadly, I'm not in a financial situtation to travel to these places, first so I know there are certain places I've visited and are know a little bit about...they are listed inside. What I'm asking is your personal opinion or experience on the places that go along with what I want. I hope that makes sense. Please if you don't mind. Thanks.

Question: (1 answer)

How can I firm up this icing recipe: 1 orange, zested and then run through a grinder 1T softened butter 1½#+ conf sugar. All ingredients thoroughly mixed together. I've added more sugar to thicken and the icing still doesn't get as firm as I'd like. Even tried adding some tapioca flour, since that firms up my fruit pies so well, with no taste. Tried adding the tapioca to both a cold mixture as well as bring it to a boil(thinking maybe that tapioca must be hot to thicken). I use this icing on my Mom's orange cookie recipe and don't remember that the icing didn't get nicely firm. Wonder if the crafty old girl omitted something in the recipe she gave me? Looking for a little help, Thanks, K
