I have some rye flour that has been in a sealed plastic container and on a cabinet shelf for quite a while--over a year ; how can I tell if there are bugs if any in it before I try using it.

i use splenda and 2/3 whole wheat flour and 1/3 reg. flour in my recipes and also bake it longer,but my Zucchini bread is still NOT fully baked.any tips ? also tryed in a bigger pan what did`n work either

Hi Y'all. I was gonna make some jiffy corn muffin mix, but realized I don't have an egg. I also don't have any mayo, I have miracle whip. Anyone have any suggestions ? I really wanted that cornbread!!

I roasted and peeled a few Hatch chilies for a recipe and now I have about - oh, say 1/3 cup of diced chilies leftover. What liquid would you save them in? Water? Vinegar (don't really want them pickled)? A mix? Olive oil? For the life of me, I can't figure it out!

For the nutritional information on your recipes you list how many servings in each recipe and then the calories. Is that the calories for the whole recipe or for a serving. Most products list serving size i.e. 1/2 cup and then the calorie count for the 1/2 cup serving size. I'm confused as to what you're calorie count pertains to.

Just decided to go look for a new washing machine. Since Labor day is coming up I hope to find some sales on washers. Can you recommend a good washer? I'll be purchasing a new dishwasher as well. How on earth am I to figure out what sides go with what dishes? As a complete newbie to cooking, I'm stumped. I'd like to be able to pick a main dish and see suggestions for sides (which occasionally I do, but I need more! Throw me a bone, here!) I've tried to guess. It hasn't gone well.

Whenever I make cream puffs I bake them at 425 for approx. 25-30 minutes. They are golden brown and puff up nicely. After they cool they flatten out! What am I doing wrong?
