Hi, reckon can remove --- add stock -- tomatoes - cream etc to sauce --- sausage is hot -- can you slice/chop to small bits and add to other mild sausage/bacon and do the hot/ normal bit by dipping in the sauce using bread/ tacos/ fajitas etc with sour cream/ avocado etc. Hope this makes sense. cheers

Maybe it won't be so hot?I recently bought Earl Campbell hot and it really wasn't, to me it was pretty bland.

Nanny, I would slice it up and boil it in water, drain the water and brown it up in a skillet.

Do a couple of test pieces and see how bad it gets, before you alter the whole lot of it. Splitting and marinating in milk or buttermilk should get rid of some of the heat...there's a short list of things that do this, will see if I can't dig it out and post again if I do...

HMMM! Slimmed down my email account a bit too much! Any "dairy" is going to help (cheese, milk, yoghurt, sour cream), but fats never hurt, either, so bacon grease or equivalent, and then sort of weird stuff like peanut butter (very fatty!) should help, as well. Maybe other members have ideas?

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

If you love the Zuppa Toscana at your local chain Italian restaurant, you will adore this soup. The rich soup is made with Italian sausage, potatoes, cream, and crushed red pepper. It is truly satisfying and irresistible. Tuck into this on a cold day and you are sure to be warmed all the way down to your toes.

late to the party, but maybe you didn't use the hot sausage up and will see this. Use it instead in this recipe and just omit the red pepper flakes. I love this recipe. the creaminess cuts the spice too.
