lenab35 - Seems like an expensive way to make soup to me. I think you can just put it in the crock pot with some fried onions and vegetables. I am thinking 3 hours on high for the meat and onions, with the other vegetables added the last hour and a half.

Of course, you would need to add some liquid to that. I am assuming you will have bones in the crock pot to give the soup flavor, so water should be fine.

I actually work in a restaurant and its been really slow. for sure I wouldn't have ANY prime rib leftover at home :-) we make our own soups daily and I've just added veggies or noodles but I'm bored with that and I'm all out of ideas. I will try the crock pot thankyou

LOL! Sorry - I didn't know that you were a professional! There are all kinds of people on here. My husband is Iranian, and I make soups for him with a boat load of parsley (Iranian style) and a spice blend called Advieh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advieh). Maybe something like that would be a nice change from the usual. I quite like the parsley myself.

Here is a typical recipe with noodles (since you already added them): http://www.yummly.com/recipe/Ash-e-Reshteh-_Iranian-Noodle-Soup_-440618?columns=4&position=10%2F53

Sorry - I can't find a recipe for the basic stew online, but it is just like a regular stew with beef, onions, carrots, beans, and potatoes except that it is seasoned with Advieh and has a lot (1 cup/5 servings) of parsley in it.

Rich, hearty steak soup has chunks of tender round steak, potatoes, carrots, celery, and corn, all simmering in a flavorful tomato-flavored beef broth.

I've made this using leftover prime rib. I lighten up on the tomato paste, usually use about half of what is called for.

I would trim any excess fat away (prime rib tends to have quite a bit) and then make some sort of beef soup, I am sure there are several on here or other similar cooking sites.

Hi, not a soup but different from US norm An old trad Scottish dish. hope helps. cheers.. Scottish Stovies Ingredients: Left over Roast Beef - diced or can use Chicken or Corned Beef - shredded 4 large Tatties (Potatoes) - partially boiled and sliced 1 Onion - thinly sliced 1 tbsp Dripping (from cooked beef) or Lard A wee touch of Beef Stock Salt and Pepper Add a wee bit of lard to a pot and gently cook the onions until soft; Add the beef or other and salt and pepper. Layer over with tattie slices and cover with the stock to taste (depending on how moist you prefer the meal); Suggestion - add a wee bit and top up as required. Simmer on the hob for about an hour or cook in the oven at 190c/380f/gas 5 for about 50 minutes.
