An elegant and eye pleasing menu of pan-seared duck breast with blueberry sauce served on a bed of bok choy, wild mushrooms, pancetta, and shallots. Roasted potatoes seasoned with rosemary and thyme complete this meal, perfect for any special occasion.

Man vs. Meat Stromboli

Get ready to feed a crowd with this meaty stromboli. With ground beef, salami, coppa ham, pepperoni, and plenty of mozzarella and provolone cheese, this calzone-like sandwich is sure to satisfy.

Christina, my stromboli are too bready for us. Do you have any tips or a bread recipe that's better for that or do you think we just don't appreciate them for what they are? :)

I saw this on faceless last night and my husband wants me to make it really bad. I've got it saved for next weekend. Looks so good

Linda, I usually use frozen pizza dough, and just keep rolling it until it's thin, but not too thin or it'll tear. I think stromboli tend to be more bread-y b/c you roll it...how about trying to jut fold it over like a calzone? VBM, this is really good, your hubby will enjoy it...def 'guy' food!

Sep. 21, 2013 5:30 am
Oh, also, Linda, I tend to add waaaay to much filling, so the ratio of filling out-weighs the bread, lol.

Thanks, Christina. Maybe I'll try a boughten dough to see if it can be handled more and/or the folding. You're right, I tried to get it too thin last time and ripped it in a couple of places.

I use pizza dough also, and it works great. I haven't made a Stromboli in quite awhile. My husband would love all the meat in this one.

We have a guest staying with us who just lost his spouse three months ago. I made this because it is so danged easy! Well, he just ooohed and aahhhed with every bite. He thought he was in heaven! I didn't dare tell him that we really do eat this about once every two or three weeks. It's my go-to when I don't feel like cooking and don't have much time.
