The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister. A lady has a restaurant and does cooking classes on Monday evenings. A nice read, especially enjoyable for those who like food and cooking. No recipes. Now I am ready to start her second book, The Lost Art of Mixing. I sure hope it is as good as the first one.

I think it was Lela who started a reading club that had recipes in the book. One author I remembered is Joann Fluke. It was a mystery and the baker was always solving the crime before the police and investigators did. I enjoyed those books.

That book you mentioned by Erica Bauermeister is available at Thrift Books, an online used book store. They have many copies for under $4, and all books ship free. They also have many books by Joann Fluke, all mysteries involving cooking. I like the site because it is recycling books for those of us who still like to buy books. Here is the address of the site:
