Oh I made an exception this year since I needed to use up this chicken and I had everything on hand.

Hi, is there anything you can think of to replace the cream soup?

Is it the dairy or sodium you are trying to nix?

I think that recipe would stand on it's own with heavy cream/corn starch and no soup. I have this saved and am looking forward to making it the next time I do a bird. Thanks.

manella - I agree with duboo. The bacon alone will give this soup richness. I personally substitute fresh chopped herbs for sour-cream toppings.

you're welcome everyone. I didn't add the sour cream it doesn't need it. If I would have had some homemade cream of chicken soup on hand I would have used that in place of canned. The bacon really makes is smokey I am tempted to rename it smoky Herbed turkey and wild rice casserole.
