If you have some leftover chicken, it is good in the Black Bean Soup.

I saw lisa recommend this the other day but I need to get rid of the last of the BB soup that's in the freezer first. The beans never really softened and the texture isn't fabulous so I keep shoving it out of the way instead of thawing it. :)

Linda, throw the soup in the crockpot and cook it a bit more on low. Maybe that will help the texture and will cook up the beans a bit more.

Thanks, Brenda. That is a good idea, but it's only a small amount and I cooked the bejeebers out of it the first time. Probably just old beans :(

Good morning! We have a small apple tree that's prolific this year. I don't know the type of apple for sure-maybe a small Granny Smith? It's tart, anyway. I'll try this tonight over pancakes.

Chicken, potatoes, mushrooms, and peppers are wrapped in aluminum foil for one-dish meals cooked in a campfire! These are easy to make for camping, my husband loves them! We prepare them at home and then leave them in the cooler until we are ready to cook. You can use any combination of meat and vegetables that you like.

Bought "fresh" corn at a roadside stand a few days ago. They lied. Not good.

Uh oh... sure hope this corn is decent. My grandma is so difficult to please. She has been complaining that we haven't had corn on the cob enough this season, and it's almost end of season. So, I got some to cool her jets. It most likely wont work, because she'll just complain it isn't good. Oh well.

Hi L.N., how are you? I bet your super busy, I still don't know how to access a personal menu? If I request a menu and you answer me with a recipe that has a picture I know how to look at it, if you leave me a recipe with a link that says personal recipe/whatever I don't know how to access that recipe other than to go through that persons entire recipe box looking for that recipe. I know there has to be an easier way I just don't know how? Bf figured it out on desktop computer, but I am always on my nook, I would be soo happy to learn how, thank you!

Sep. 18, 2013 4:50 am
I meant a recipe request, not a menu request..oops sorry

There is no easy way that I found. But I have learned a trick that really helps. Say I recommend a personal recipe showing a link. If someone else on the post says "saved . . . " go to THAT person's recipe box, it will be the first listed! Another way is to go to someone's recipe box, click on Type twice, weblinks appear first, then personal. Within that sorting, the recipes are alphabetical. So you can skip several pages as you guess the approximate page number to look at until you find the right page.

Another way around this is to bookmark the request itself and go back to it when you have the Nook next to the big computer. Do you know how to bookmark a web site or page?

Sep. 18, 2013 5:20 am
Well BF has tried to show me but I cringe because he is very impatient when he has tried to show me how to copy and paste so I think I will pop into barnes and noble this week and have them help me. They are really nice and helpful. Thanks for your help, I am as lost on the nook as I am at baking, but hey I am a work in progress!

Back from the store now... going to top some with mini peanut butter cups too. Also in the checkout lane there was a small bag of mini bites of butterfinger. Think I might put on on the top of some and see how those taste. (It will be crunchy, but it's an experiment). Roxmj- these are wonderful cookies. I think sometimes people find the red and green andes candies around christmas and then they have colorful christmas cookies.
