Good night to all of my AR cooking friends, Before I could do anything this evening another one of my lights burnt out so I turned the breaker off without delay and fixed my bulb without any problems. That is always the way it should be done. I am thinking up another cookie recipe that should be another good keeper for everyone to save. Have a good sleep everybody and a pleasant wake up tomorrow.

Turning the switch off is not enough for you? How would you change a fuse in the mains panel? Mind, I am only an elevator mechanic, so what would I know?

Yes, seems like overkill to do that simply to replace a bulb. Just turn off the light switch.

I believe Cheerios got a jolt from a broken bulb recently. Can't be too careful! Glad you took precautions!

Replacing a broken bulb is different from one that is intact. Most people reply based on the information provided.

When I screw in a new bulb, I always do it with the power on and screw it in just enough to light. That way, if the bulb breaks (which mine have) there's enough base exposed and loose enough to get out using needle nosed pliers. Hope this info helps for the future.
