We stopped at a big fruit & veggie market today, and the lady shared a new (to me anyway) way to freeze peaches. She said you freeze them whole in a ZIPLOCK bag. She pointed out that ZIPLOCK was key, because generic brands don't seal well enough. When you are ready to use them, pull out of the freezer and run under warm water. The skins will slip right off, you then use a knife to cut slices off the pit.

She also shared a recipe....put the peach slices in a 9x13 pan, sprinkle with a cake mix, and pour a can of sprite/7up over the top, and throw it in the oven.

LOL @ gderr I kept looking for a sign saying they were sponsored by Ziplock! Since Kansas isn't exactly prime peach country, I had to make do with what I could!

Send some peaches up here Gary! They are really one of the only fruits I really really love. Luckily we live close to Niagara Region and they produce good peaches but I'm sure totally different from the ones you get down there. Either way,, I'm going to can for the first time in my grown up life this year. (my uncle made me can peaches when I was little) I will be hitting you up for peach canning tips in the fall!

This is fabulous trick! Wish there was a way we could earmark this idea, so us "senior brains, could refer back. I can't remember what they served for dinner by the time I get upstairs!! Had myself a baked sweet pot., & two!! Ears of FRESH corn for dinner tonight, 'cause I got home too late for dinner time meal. AW, TTO bad !!!

Peach ice cream sounds good too...although my next batch will probably be the Wendy's Frosty recipe I found on FB. 1/2 gallon chocolate milk, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, and a tub of cool whip.
