Good evening everyone, I had a good afternoon in town and I am back home again trying to hook up my water filter again that is under the sink. I Have the cylinder on but I want to know which direction to turn the cylinder to turn the water on again to run through the filter.

I have the cylinder on tight but now the top will not turn to the correct on position for me.

I think you may be describing a quarter turn valve. Try to turn it so that the handle is running in the same direction as the water line. Use the shortest course to that means.

Yes , I should only have to turn it a quarter turn but it will not budge right now so do I have to make sure the cylinder is on correctly first

I'm not sure if I am understanding completely, but my short answer is yes. One thing that helps on the water filter canister threads is household vaseline. Put a thin layer on the threads and if you have a rubber o-ring, make sure you put it on that.

Thank you for your help duboo. It is a rainfresh water filter that fits on to the pipes below the sink and filters the chlorine out of the water. Once I have the cylinder in place then it should turn easily to the correct position.
