still emeralds! is looking for: (2 recommendations)
OT For a gift that includes a small plastic bottle of vinegar, is it impt to keep the bottle upright? It'd be easier to pack if it doesn't matter. (A wedding gift so I don't know if it'll be moved around b/4 being opened.) Thanks.

If it is still factory sealed, I think it would be ok. Why not test it by setting it on its side on a paper towel. If it leaks you'll know before you pack it.

What a great idea! I've got a few days so will set it on a towel, in a plastic box. Thanks so much.

I would tape the bottle cap onto the bottle. with box tape. then wouldn't worry about the bottle being upside down.

Hi Ems! You are in the States, I am In Canada...every plastic bottle of whatever (including vinegar) that we get up here seems to have a foil seal inside that needs be peeled off before you can do anything with it. Might not be the same in the USA, but its not like vinegar is going to "go off" on exposure to air, so its my thought that you should be pretty "safe" with this. Might I add, that your gift seems very well thought out and "planned"? For a rookie couple, just starting off together, this seems very well thought out! It will be 34 years for DW and I this weekend, but can recall some "bridal showers" of that ancient where the idea was to bring umpteen "canned" items, with the labels ripped off or otherwise obliterated, that you'd have no idea what you were opening up, and be tasked with a total "mystery meal", that any "low skill" thing could be covered up by the necessity of using up all the canned ...thanks for this laugh from long ago and far away!
