I'm making pee-caan pies today for the Buckeye Bash tomorrow. I'm making 2, can I successfully just double the filling or should I make them one at a time? I've only ever made one when I make it. Recipe inside. Thanks!

I think you may end up with differing ratios of goo to nuts if you make a double batch. It's so hard to go back and forth, etc. If that doesn't bother you then I'd do it. And, of course, I would be wrong since I've never tried it either. :)

Oh yeah, your pies. I'm a cupcake and cake maker, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Tee hee.... I have never had luck just doubling a PIE recipe. I end up with two many nuts in one and not enough in the other. Or berries or whatever. What I do is get out two bowls and make a double batch at the same time in two separate bowls. Then I know each pie has the same quantity of goodies in it.

To read the reviews you have to scroll down to see them.

bd.weld. No matter what link I click on for the reviews(top, bottom, wherever) I get a red error message across the top on personal recipes.

I just found one way into them. If you click on the overall rating in your recipe box the pages of reviews comes up. Nothing from the recipe page works though.

Sometimes I think they are actually trying to remove a feature though, so maybe I shouldn't relay what still works :/

Thanks everyone. BD...I can see the first part but when I click on the + sign I get an error message. If I click on the top part where it says reviews, it doesn't open either. Oh, if you pull the recipe up and click no overall rating it displays.

I learned in a bakery to add the pecans in the crust and then pour the sugar mixture on top. That way you get even distribution of nuts in pie, therefore you can double the batch very easily.

Call me *nuts ( yes pun inteneded, lol) But could you keep the the sauce and pecans separate, put the sauce in a extra large measuring cup so it divides evenly. Then, either pour the sauce in pie then top with pecans, or put the pecans in the pie first, then pour sauce over top?

I just decided to go ahead and mix separately. Prep is done, just waiting on beans to come out of the oven and for Salvation Army to get here to pick up garage sale leftovers. Thanks everyone!
