Party Chef is asking: (2 answers)
What is the fastest way to freeze ice cubes. With hot water or cold water? My ice machine just went kaput and I use a lot of ice. Thankyou!

Cold water will freeze faster. If you start with hot, your freezer will first have to cool the hot water to get to the point where you would have started with cold, so it will take longer.

Bummer! Sorry to hear that! My ice maker hasn't worked for well over a year. I don't know what freezes fastest, but I've been using ice cube trays and breaking out the ice and putting it into the bucket inside the refrigerator, so I can still get ice thru the door. I fill the trays about two-thirds full. On mine, I flipped up the wire inside the ice maker to turn the ice maker off. The only thing that's wrong with it is that when the water runs in to fill the tray, it doesn't go into the tray but all down the back of the freezer.

I mean the ice maker bucket, where the cubes would fall if the ice maker worked.

Thanks Thisni. I'll probably go to the store and buy a bag of ice and put it in my ice holder in my freezer. Fridge is 15 years old. Maybe time to upgrade!

In the short term, got any neighbours that you've done anything for? Because you might have neighbours that owe you a favour or two, and this would be a cheap way to get out of their obligation.
