Good evening. I was thinking of making a taco saled but we have no cheese or tomatoes. Can we still do this?

I vote YES! Just add some extra things to make up for the cheese and maters!

Some ingredients, besides cheese and tomatoes, could be: lettuce, kidney beans or pinto beans, corn (from a can, fresh or frozen), peppers, tortilla chips, salsa, sour cream, zucchini slices, chicken or hamburger with seasonings.

Absolutely! Assuming you have the essential meat, use jarred sauce and have Olives, onion, chick peas(garbonzo beans) and if you have it, cheese soup, taco sauce. Check your pantry for a variety of options.

I guess it comes down to what you do have on hand, and/or what you conceive to be a taco salad, or what you could run to the grocery/convenience store to purchase Salsa, loose fried ground beef, refried beans, avocado, sour cream but you still wind up wanting the cheese...a bit better meal planning?

Put whatever fillings in your salad that you want! I often make my own tortilla shells, and put on various fillings. Those might be beans, veggies, coleslaw, and/or different herbs. I get real creative sometimes!

Thank you. We are on a very limeted income so we always have to make do.

when I run out of tomatoes for salad I grate carrots, they are cheap and the orange color brightens up the salad. No rules-salads are whatever you make them with :)
