These are really yummy. I spread a layer of lemon curd or strawberry jam over the cream cheese layer and sub 1/4 cup of butter for the 1/2 cup of margarine. 1/4 cup is plenty.

Oh yeah, one of our favorites. But, I use chocolate 'jimmies' sprinkled on the top just before serving. Yummy.

I usually make this the night before or several hours in the refrigerator before serving.

Not sure if you'd call if exactly a dessert, but I always take either Watergate Salad, the one with the pistachio pudding, or I make a strawberry version, frozen sweetened berries, mashed, in place of the crushed pineapple and vanilla pudding in place of the pistachio. Better make a double recipe, it goes quick!!!!

This is really similar to my recipe. My favorites were using a yellow cake mix or a lemon cake mix [just like very easy lemon bars!]. After a complaint about it being too sweet, I tend to make a yellow crust and a lemon crust, then I double everything for the cream cheese layer - except the powdered sugar - to split between the two. Comes out perfect!
