What to cook for a crowd, that is low effort, can be made ahead of time, and does NOT require a slow cooker?

Normally I would make spaghetti sauce, chili meatballs, etc. But we found out that our slow cooker was recalled 10 years ago. I do have the fallback of just ordering some pizzas.

Something to be reheated or not? What type of crowd? Adults/Kids/mixed ages? Is cost a matter?

How many is a 'crowd'? And I'm thinking if you used that slow cooker for 10 years and it's been fine all this time, just go ahead. Inside party, outside party? Family doing, graduation, ?

Brats can be grilled ahead, then put in a roaster or a big pan with beer and sauerkraut to reheat on the grill or in the oven. Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. Lasagna, baked ziti, chicken parm with spaghetti.

This ^^^ can be done ahead of time and can be doubled if need be.

Group means something like one dozen. Adults ranging in age from 25-30. I had to cut the cord of the slow cooker and email a picture to the manufacturer. We have a replacement slow cooker on the way but I don't know when it will show up. I like the chicken parm idea...

maybe you could make a bunch of lil sandwiches on hawaiin rolls for snacks?

Cost is not really a factor since it is tradition in the group to put out a donation jar.

Summer Pasta Salad II

Fresh vegetables and pasta with salami, pepperoni and tasty artichoke hearts make for a beautiful, crowd pleasing Summer dish.

I do not add artichoke hearts, and I add the salami and/or pepperoni before serving... Also, I use cherry tomatoes instead of cutting up and seeding regular garden tomatoes (the cherry tomatoes stay whole...)... I do not know anybody who does not like a good pasta salad. Now, if you are looking for something hot, a type of meat, do you have a good recipe for Chili? Serve with cornbread and honey-butter. Do you have picky eaters?

Creamy Beef Stroganoff

This Stroganoff recipe produces a creamy sauce for the ground beef thanks to the use of prepared golden mushroom soup. Toss with egg noodles for a hearty meal.

Serve over egg noodles. I would not add ground cloves nor nutmeg and would use beef broth instead of water, and plenty of sauteed mushrooms!

These are awesome! Once you get the sauce mixed up it's just a matter of layering. Easy! I get the Hawaiian rolls and just take my big bread knife, slice them in half so there is one big top and bottom, layer it on, put top on, sauce, bake, then cut through the sections. If they are a little uneven no one has ever complained :)
