keecomin is asking: (3 answers)
I accidentally added an extra 1/2 tsp of salt to a yellow cake recipe that already has 3 tsp of baking powder, 3 cups of cake flour, 2 cups sugar, and 4 eggs. Is that okay or should I throw it out and start over? Thank you.

Sorry, there is now a total of one tsp of salt in the batter. :)

This recipe calls for 1 tsp of salt with measurements less than the one you are using. So I would say it should be okay. If you have not already sifted the ingreidents try taking some out.

I think you will be fine. Is it a butter cake? If so, be sure to use unsalted butter .

No you won't be able to tell it.

I don't think you will have any problem. The exact amount of salt in a cake recipe really makes very little difference.

Thank you all very much for your assistance, I really appreciate it! It looks like it's supposed to, we'll find out this afternoon at my husband's birthday party if it tastes good! Thanks again! :)
