i have a gardening question. seem like many here grow their on produce, so this seems reasonable. ok, it is a stretch, alright then...i'm playing smashing pumpkins for the cantalopes, watermelon, cukes and zukes. playing bush for the beans. playing red hot chili peppers for the bell peppers and sweet banana peppers. playing black eye peas for the sweet and black-eye peas. playing korn for the silver queen corn growing. i'm also streaming bush to the beans. i'm having a problem with radishes and okra. music seems to make gardens grow better, not sure if hard rock and roll or elevator music would benefit their growth...your thoughts...hey this is almost a serious question.

A little bluegrass by the Pickled Okra Band could work for the veggy and the lawn.

It's Chili by George!!

Submitted by: George Couch
This is a good, standard chili, with lots of ground beef, tomatoes, kidney and pinto beans, and onions. It needs to simmer for 90 minutes on the stove, or can be made in a slow cooker and left to simmer all day.

How about some "Cream" for the peaches, some "Bread" for the wheat, and a little "Blondie" for the pecans. Just don't play any "Fine Young Cannibals" or the weeds will take over the whole garden.

This is by far the easiest recipe I have found for strawberry jam without using a pectin. The jam is soft, spreadable and delicious.

Carrot Pie, with it's sweet cinnamon taste, has been in my family for at least 5 generations. It's a must have at our family Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers, (but good anytime!!) Can be served with dinner, or as dessert with whipped topping or Ice cream.

Radishes are typically forgotten as a snack food in the U.S. I recently went to Mexico, where radishes are served frequently. I think it's a lovely food tradition. So here's to a radish revival!
