Non-productive day question. Soups are my favorite meals to eat, bar none. What is your favorite soup recipe?

Outstanding. I love comfort soups and this is it. I think I'd use my potato dumpling recipe for the gnocchi.

You can make this as spicy or not as you want.

Wonderful. I would probably use a rotisserie chicken pulled into strips on this. Also, I'd be tempted to throw in some Jim Beam :) That gives such a nice burnt smoky flavor in dishes like this. I've gotten a ton of good recipes today.

Okay...this isn't a recipe "yet" (or maybe it is and I haven't come across it), but my favorite soup is Chicken Enchilada soup from Cugino's. It comes in a package and you just add water and chicken and cook, but I always add canned, diced tomatoes, black beans, corn, diced onions and chilies. We shred cheese, crush tortillas on top and add a dollop of sour cream. I'm trying to copy the ingredients of the mix (which is only $3 at WM). It's addicting!

That sounds really good! I'm going to look for that at WM.

I keep a couple of dry soup packets around too. They are never as good as homemade, but sometimes they hit the spot on a busy day. Sometimes, with just an extra ingredient or two added in and you can't tell the difference between that and homemade.

Oh, I love to make AND eat soups and stews! These are some great recommendations. I have a menu called TNT Soups and Stews. I tried to pick just a couple but couldn't, so I made the menu public, if your interested. I've made custom recipes on some; I've reviewed all of them. One is a personal recipe. And the recipes under 'Vegetarian' are recipes with no added meat although they may contain chicken broth.

Excellent menu. I like those cabbage heavy veggie soups. In fact, that is what I made today.

I know you already have a lot of great suggestions but I have to share this corn chowder with you. It's soo good! Also from this same source is a Lentil Soup recipe with is great. I didn't think I would like all the Lentis but they are tasty! The recipe makes about 10-12c Soup http://allrecipes.com/weblink/63436274/recipe-finder-healthy-meals-resource-system/detail.aspx

Thanks! Similar to my corn chowder except this one uses creamed corn. I owe it to myself to try it as I can open a can of creamed corn and eat it straight :)

This creamy mushroom soup is seasoned generously with dill, paprika, parsley, and lemon juice. Sour cream is added at the end of cooking, making the soup very rich and filling.

This is one of my favorite recipes from this site. I make this a lot--my family loves it. The salsa you choose makes all the difference.
