Non-productive day question. Soups are my favorite meals to eat, bar none. What is your favorite soup recipe?

I think you might have solved a dilemma for me. My wife loves beer cheese soup, but in spite of me loving both beer and cheese, I've never been a fan of beer cheese soup. Just not enough "stuff" in it. This solves that!

About as good as it gets! This is the version of French Onion Soup that people seek when they go to restaurants. I have been making it for 30 years and it never fails to please. It makes an exquisite presentation, too!

Loved it. The onions take longer to caramelize than the recipe states. Worth the effort

Well this is timely! My parents just returned from Texas and brought me 50 pounds of gorgeous onions. We go through more onions around here than potatoes. This one will get made probably this weekend, because as luck would have it, I had just made some French bread with an Italian kick that will go perfect with this.

Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup

This delicious Italian soup features tortellini, sausage, and lots of vegetables -- carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, and bell pepper. The soup is enriched with beef stock and red wine, and garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.

Yummy yummy yummy. I wonder if my store would have cheese tortellini? Do you have to worry about the cheese cooking out of the tortellinis? Do you think cheese raviolis would work instead?

Thanks all! I think I saved them all. I am going to try the Mexican ones too, but probably on a small scale. I absolutely love Mexican food, but have a hard time getting used to it in my soup :)

Oh man, you wouldn't last around here, lol! My favorite ingredient is rotel and canned black beans. Leftover grilled chicken and bam - soup! A friend used to own a restaurant and his chef invented chicken enchilada soup - best soup I've ever tasted! Still mad that I can't find that recipe.

I used to go to Famous Barr all the time and have this soup. Sadly, Famous Barr is no more, but I had gotten this recipe a long time ago, so I am still able to enjoy this soup.

A hearty combination of beans, corn, tomatoes, and taco seasonings, slow cooked with shredded chicken. Top each bowl with Cheddar cheese, sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips. Made mostly of canned ingredients, this tasty soup lets the slow cooker do the work so you don't have to!

The first time I made this soup was on Halloween a few years ago. Now, it is kind of a tradition to have it that night.

I did this one once and didn't care for the lentils, but loved the rest. I saved it and plan to use again with kidney beans :)

I love mushroom barley soup and I was originally making one that took about 3 hours to cook. This one is so simple and easy and takes a third of the time. If you like mushroom barley soup, you will really like this. It's perfect for a cold winter night.

Using 2% milk gives this rustic soup just a little bit of creaminess without all of the fat. You can easily make it vegetarian by substituting the chicken broth with vegetable broth.

That's completely different than my tomato soup. I've never even considered using chicken broth before. I will try this.

Ground beef, Italian sausage, beans, and a tomato base come together with lots of flavor and spice in this popular chili recipe. It's perfect for tailgating before football games or any time of year.

That one was already in my recipe box waiting to be tried. It isn't a heck of a lot different than my chili except for the sausage. That should add a nice punch. I generally use dried beans to cut down on the sodium unless I'm in a hurry.
