Non-productive day question. Soups are my favorite meals to eat, bar none. What is your favorite soup recipe?

Italian Sausage Soup

This soup is easy to put together, and the flavor of the spicy sausage is balanced nicely by Great Northern beans, zucchini, fresh spinach, and carrots. Makes a delicious winter supper.

My favorite soup is my vegetable beef, which I don't have a recipe for. I made a soup very close to this one about 2 or 3 weeks ago. It was excellent. I make at least one soup a week.

Wonderful! I will have to try this, but only half of us will put a spoon in this one. Fresh oysters is not possible, and I'm not even sure if frozen are available. Do you think canned would work?

I wouldn't bother with canned frankly. Wait til you get the real McCoy. And, remember what they say about oysters and months with "R's"...the season is almost over.

I have a confession. I have a hard time with Mexican style soups. I've had them that others rave about, but I keep thinking that it would be really tasty if it were a bit dryer and in a taco shell! I know it's corny (no pun intended), but it's my quirk and I live with it, lol.

That right there is real close to one of my all-time favorites. A basic soup that my Mom always made. Often I will use evaporated milk for that extra little touch.

Tired of plain old Chicken Soup? Try this spunky Mexican inspired masterpiece. Adding the avocado is a must! We also add a little grated cheese and crushed tortilla chips.

Perfect. Comfort food at its best. I'd probably skip the sherry but otherwise that recipe looks like a definite keeper.

I love chicken corn soup. I don't like or make the rivels, but that's just a personal preference. I also use some chicken broth in place of all of the water. I also add a little turmeric, gives it a nice yellow color and good for you too. Yum!

I know cheese snobs would wrinkle their noses at me, but I love Velveeta! This soup looks fantastic. I make one similar, which is probably a little better for the waistline, using very little Velveeta and a roux mixed with milk.

Nice! Now I know this will sound silly, but I've never cooked with kale. Does this react like lettuce or more like a cabbage when cooked?

I make a similar recipe. I use Italian sausage. The kale is similar to spinach. If you're not sure, sub with spinach.

Like endive. Baby spinach is really tender and you can add it to the end. It doesn't take a long time to cook.
