If my broiler doesn't work, can I use the oven? I really want to try making the tomato bacon pasta.

i would just cook on stove stop- maybe med-low -or low til thickened:-)

If you mean this recipe, probably not. The use of the broiler is mostly to brown the top perhaps making it crispy. I would look for some other recipe that doesn't require use of the broiler. ... http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Tomato-and-Bacon-Pasta-Bake/Detail.aspx

Hi Yesenia If you broiler element doesn't work, you could still use the oven (until you get it repaired), but only for baking. If you are working with an electric oven, the problem is usually a blown fuse, or, worst case, a burnt out heating element. Neither is terribly hard to fix (can you tell that I've been down that road before?) If its a gas range, its likely the igniter or a fuse, but with gas, you need to bring in a professional, as gas isn't something for amatures!

@Chairlifter thanks for the help but my broiler does work afterall & my pasta bake was a success.
