my husband and i want a childhood treat were thinking puppy chow but we need to know if it will make it taste any different if we didn't add the peanut butter because of a friends allergies. please help!

You could maybe use butterscotch chips instead of peanut butter

Add some Nutello ( or the equivalent in same). Just make sure no one has any other nut allergies. I am allergic to only Walnuts? I don't know why this happens.Best of wishes!

But to answer the question you asked, YES. Leaving the peanut butter out of Puppy Chow WILL make it taste completely different. There are only two flavor components to the recipe and you will be leaving out one of them. Not to say you can't use something else and come up with a great snack, but it's not going to be classic Puppy Chow which is pb and chocolate.

They make a sunflower seed butter. I'v never tried it, but that might work?
