I know this is totally OT but wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me out with something. .... I have an etsy store where I sell my hand painted porcelain. I also have my own on line store where I also sell murals and tiles and such. BUT anyhow they have "tags" on etsy and I don't think I'm putting good tags and or headers for my items. Therefore I'm hoping you may give me what you would use in the search bar to find some things. For an example I hand painted a small porcelain continaer used for like olive oil. What would you call it? Also I have a couple of hand painted portraits of a little boy, I also have a couple of "tiles" that I painted scences on and have ribbon to hang them. I sell those well at art shows. They are really pretty and some oranments for everyday use that sell well at shows but am lacking veiws on etsy due to my "tags" and such. Anyhow I really hope this is not an issue to ask and could really use the help. Thank you so much.

Thank you. I don't have a lot on line presently. I'm always amazed at what sells at shows so easily. I never thought myself that great or even good but apparently I'm not as bad as i imagened! I can post some pictures on here I guess but I don't think allrecipes will allow me to post my websites. I have a few pictures but I love to paint especially on porcelain because it is a challenge and we say cheaper than theraphy! It's very unforgiving and unlike acrlyics or oils once it's there you can't do anything about it. So if you mess up it's messed up. lol I guess that is why I perfer it. lol

I posted some pictures of my older work. I have stuff now that is by far better but for some reason the pixs are to big to post on here but the older work is not. LOL I'm always so tickled when someone likes what I've done or even just wants to see it. So you can look under my pictures for a couple of images. Thank you.

What tags do you currently have? Gifts, art, painting, tiles, murals, decorative, hand painted, custom containers, painted kitchen storage jars are some that come to mind. Are there only choices of tags or can you use your own words?

I'm not sure what tags pop up, but I just searched around on etsy and saw these, home decor, ceramics, housewares, collectibles, handmade, art.

You should post your etsy shop and website here. AR doesn't care what links are posted inside these posts. Also, I'd be posting both all over the place, facebook, twitter, etc - any social media that you are on. Half of the battle is getting the word out about your product.

Oh I didn't realize. Thank you. Both shops are rather new for my work. Etsy we had a few things on there for a while but they were vintage type of stuff. Thank you!

I have tags like you said but they told me to post headliners of specifics like oil well, or handpainted platter etc...I hate to say it but the stuff I have on there is not my favorite stuff. My favs I sell well at shows and they never make it on there. I'm trying to change that a little bit and paint more. I don't do well with the advertising part. lol

RBC, you should join the Florida Etsy Team (FEST). You can ask this same question of other sellers which might be more helpful to you.

RBC, I think your items are beautiful! You're very talented!! If those are what you consider "not good" I can't wait to see your "good" items! I can't help w/tags because I don't understand the whole tagging business. Sorry :(

Thank you LIsa you have just made my day. I'll have more stuff over the next month. The type of painting I do, porcelain, takes longer because it's done in layers and the layers require to be fired each time and each fire takes on the average 14 hours. Mostly for cooling but still yet...its a time factor but i do love to paint. I make wedding plates as well. And pretty much anything anyone would really wnat. I love painting protraits, and pansies are my favorite flower to paint and I'm really enjoying painting horses. I've only been painting for a couple of years off and on so I know they will get a lot better. :)

I'd like to suggest something & I hope I don't offend you in any way nor do I know enough about the subject to offer suggestions to remedy it, but the lighting on your photos of the items is a little dark. Do you know how to brighten them up a little so we can see the beautiful details clearer? What made me think of this is....there have been a couple things I've followed on etsy that I've pinned onto Pinterest. Obviously I'm not the only person to do this but posting on Pinterest will make your items fly out the door. Trust me, I've been trying to get a couple of items from 2 different etsy sellers & as soon as they add them, they're gone. Crazy. IDK if you want to be that busy, but I think you're THAT good that's exactly what will happen, imo. I'd just like to see brighter, clearer pictures. I hope that doesn't come across rude, does it? I honestly don't mean it that way at all. I bet they're totally stunning in person & that's why you're selling them so quickly & abundantly...it's just not translating in the pictures as well. Make sense?

Oh htank you very much for your kindness and no it's not rude at all! I know I need to buy a camera but we have been so broke. I had a nice one that I really liked and no kidding you it has vanished into thin air. Sadly all of my pictures presently are coming from my phone. :( I know it's not a good way to do it but presently that is all I have but soon hopefully I will be able to buy a new one. And htank you for saying such nice things. There is nothing rude with your remarks they are helpful and Iam looking for honesty and that helps a lot. So thank you.
