Update: Sorry it has been so long since I updated you guys on my husbands condition. It has been a long two weeks. He was unable to be removed from the respirator. They tried for several days. They did a trach so the respirator could be atached there for more long term. Then he wouldn't wake up from the sedation he had been on for several days due to the resp. being in his mouth and down his throat. They were afraid he might have brain damage due to his cardiac arrest. However the eeg was normal thank goodness. He did finally wake up and he is doing a lot better. Yesterday he was moved to Mesquite Specialty Hospital where he will be weaned off the respirator over the next 4-8 weeks. He will also require a lot of rehab. due to how weak he is. Thanks all of you so much for all the prayers. God is good.

Best of luck Char for you and your family w/hubby. My mom was on a respirator a few times over the last couple of years...the 1st 2 times were heck on wheels especially when they had no understanding why. The doctors had told us the longer on sedation, the longer it takes to pull them out of it and wake up. My prayers and hopes for your hubby are high, I will put y'all on my prayer list as well as telling my family to do so also.

Thank you to all of you. The kind thoughts and prayers they mean so much to me. They temporarily put a valve in that he can talk with. The speech therapist is working with him. I will be so happy to be able to hear his voice again. We are definitley on that long road to recovery. I am just so thankful I still have here to take that journey.
