Zesty Beef Roast

One day when I ran out of ketchup, I substituted horseradish in the sauce for the meatballs I was making. It was delicious, so next I decided to try it on a roast. It, too, was a winner.

I need a new dutch oven. What do you have?

Sorry can not remember the name I have had it for a while. It came with the last set of pot and pans I got.

Martha Stewart at Macy's.

I have made this one at least a dozen times. It is one of my favorite meals to come out of my dutch oven. You will LOVE it. I use mine about 4 times a week!

I have the Martha Stewart from Macy's too... love it. My husband will see it on the stove and say "oooh, there is something in the big red pot"!!

Beef Short Ribs Sauerbraten

The 24-hour marinade in this classic German dish, Sauerbraten, ensures succulent short ribs have that signature tanginess. Gingersnaps give the sauce a beautiful texture and add a sweet spiciness.

This is wonderful though I extended the braise time to 4 hours. No juniper berries so I used a shot of gin:) Love my enamel coated cast iron dutch oven and especially the results from it :)

Thanks. I'll try it!

Beef short ribs are a highly flavorful cut. This method of cooking makes the meat so tender you won't need a knife. The thick rich sauce is delicious served with mashed potatoes and the carrots that cook with the ribs.

This is simple and delicious though I reduced the bbq sauce by half to suit out taste.

Beef short ribs are braised to luscious tenderness during a long, slow cooking in flavorful liquids, like this cherry- and balsamic-vinegar sauce enriched with fennel. A cast iron Dutch oven or heavy enameled pot will be perfect to cook this gourmet dish.

Made this recipe to a "T" and reviewed it. The layers and depth of flavors of what is in this pot... Mmmm ~ Thanks for reminding me of it! :)

Texas-style pulled pork simmers in a tangy chili-seasoned barbecue sauce with plenty of onion, then pulled into tender shreds to serve on a buttered, toasted bun.

I've made this a few times and it's amazing. Very versatile and I've cooked it as long as 12 hours in the oven on about 220 degrees...delish!

These are the best braised ribs I have ever tasted. It's a modified version of a recipe I got out of a Cook's Country magazine:

I made these chops for the first time on a Friday night. By Sunday my hubby was begging me to make them again. Absolutely delicious!
