hi Koriekiss i use mozzarella for everyone's but mine.I make a little one for myself,with a white sauce made with lactose free milk.

it depends on the cheeses you like . if you dont want to go extreme i would use american

Ditto Misty. We have fallen in love with peccorino romano in place of parm. It is much more flavorful IMHO and more pleasing to grown-up palates.

I use half mozzarella and half jack than parm on top (same as my mom). Been thinking about trying provolone tho! I see a lot with just mozzarella. Not sure if the jack is helping it. I have never tried peccorino romano! Might have to try that. Is it hard like parm?

Besides for the mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan I use, instead of all ricotta (which is bland in my opinion), I use an equal amount of ricotta and cottage cheese mixed together. I really wish people would stop being so scared to put cottage cheese in their's amazing even if you think you don't like cottage cheese:)

I grew up eating a spaghetti casserole my aunt use to make using cottage cheese and I loved it! but, I just happen to be one of those people who are weird about it. little wet balls of cheese, I don't know. I am sure I would love it tho.

Lol, I think it's a "texture issue" for most people too, but it tastes soooo much better. My husband HATES cottage cheese, but loves it in lasagna. I just think ricotta cheese is bland and dry and I wish people would give it a chance in lasagna:)

I use sliced provolone after seeing it in the pioneer womans lasagna recipe-so good. My friend tops hers with slices of cream cheese (bar style) and its wonderful!!

I use ricotta, of course, but always top it with a mix of yellow and white cheddar.

Ricotta, mozzarella and freshly grated parmesan. And lllllloooooottttttttttsssssss of it! :)
