I had considered the recipe before but passed on it because I've never had capers before. But then today I see that Gderr has recommended the same recipe for someone as well. So now I'm considering the recipe again but have to ask. What are capers? What do they taste like? And where do I find them in the grocery store?

pattiecakes43,capers are little round buds which are pickled they are salty,so you might want to adjust to your own taste. I recommend you do try it.you won't be sorry.

Thnx Manella! I don't mind salty but will have to adjust for the family. Would I find them with the condiments or somewhere else in the store?

as manny said...about capers. but the recipe is worth buying capers for it. i do leave out the any other salt. the balzamic does balance nicely with capers. btw, if i remember capers aren't really expensive.

To begin with buy the smallest bottle you can. Then when you discover that you really love them, look for bigger ones! Trader Joe's has them, but the grocery stores carry little tiny jars. You'll know why chicken piccata is so popular after you try them.

Inexpensive is always good. Thnx Gderr. Going shopping this weekend and will definitely pick some up...and some more balsamic. :)

Fresh parsley and dried tarragon are just two of the sources of flavor in this recipe you'll want to prepare next time you're having fried fish at the house.

Good morning Patti, capers are pickled flower buds that pack a ton of flavor in each tiny little bud. We love those tangy little things. I use them on everything. They are wonderful on scrambled eggs, chopped up in deviled eggs and in salads, main dishes and the list goes on. Once you try them, you'll get hooked on them too. Buy a small jar as suggested first, to try them out. Trust me, you are gonna love these little guys!

I was coming back in here to tell everyone how delicious nasturtium buds are! Candice's hubby pickled some of those, and they even outweigh capers! :)

LOL! I was going to mention that Marianne. We are planning an area for a big crop this year. We like them better too!

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

A family favorite, these chicken breasts get the full-flavored treatment: these are smothered in a creamy dill and caper sauce, and seasoned with lemon pepper and garlic powder.
