Hi Buzzers! What's your favorite taco salad recipe and/or dressing to top a taco salad? I'll be out for a bit to pick up son from school, but will check back! Thanks so much :)

I like catalina dressing on my taco salad, but I have a friend who makes a great taco salad and the dressing is mayo, ketchup and some dashes of hot sauce.

Salsa ranch is good on a taco salad. You can buy it in a jar in the refrigerated section, or make your own. Just mix salsa into ranch dressing.

Catalina for sure. I have also had to use French (good too) before when my grocery store was out of Catalina.

Just mix a few simple things together for a creamy and delicious dressing for taco salads. Amounts of ingredients are flexible so it's easy to customize the dressing to your taste.

We like sour cream and french and ranch dressing piled with salsa. Yeah, sounds kind of gross but actually quite tastey!!!

The best dressing I have had on a taco salad is Chuy's creamy jalapeƱo sauce. It is a creamy ranch with jalapeƱos and cilantro.

The only "dressing " I use is a taco sauce, & maybe a dollop of sour cream. However, I do make a SLIGHTLY saucy taco meat (ie, not dry crumbles). Personally & as a parent I came to prefer taco salads to tacos (in shells) because we ate a much larger proportion of vegs to meat that way.

Re: fave taco salad recipe, I don't use a recipe. I simply offer up all the taco fixings on a bed of partly-crushed corn tortilla chips & shredded lettuce. A top 10 hit with my family!

Hi Rhianna! I am trying to get more veggies in and thought this is a great dinner for the family since I can just make one meal and everyone doctor it up how they like :) I do have taco sauce, so that's a good idea too!

They'll love the "make-it-yourself"! :)

I applaud your efforts to increase veg consumption. Another veg-intensive, make-it-yourself, top 10 hit with my family is Vietnamese spring rolls. And we loved the savory Japanese veg pancake "okonomiyaki". I learned a VERY simple recipe from a Japanese in-law, which is slightly different from the 2 recipes on AR, but play with AR's recipes. You can put ANYthing into the pancake, but I'd always put at least slivered: cabbage, green onions, & grated carrot.

Southwestern-Flavored Ground Beef or Turkey for Tacos & Salad

With Southwestern-Flavored Ground Beef, you can simultaneously make tonight's dinner and tomorrow's lunch. Just save out and refrigerate some of the taco meat and fixings such as shredded cheese and lettuce, plus chopped scallions and tomatoes. A good-looking salad like this will draw potential lunch traders. More likely than not, they'll be out of luck.
