I have a jar of store bought cake frosting. Has anyone had luck with whipping it to make it more light and increase the volume? I will be mixing in some food colour but I am thinking it will just get watery from mixing. Has anyone tried this?

Please note I do not have enough icing sugar to make my own icing/frosting and hope to have enough to pipe 24 cupcakes.

I use this if I do not have icing sugar, double the flour to thicken it properly.
