South Georgia Biscuits

These are traditional hand-formed South Georgia biscuits as made by my family for generations. Unlike most recipes, these biscuits are formed entirely by hand, not rolled and cut. Once you master the technique, you can make them very quickly and will find the texture and appearance to be much better than rolled biscuits.

Buttermilk baking mix (e.g. Bisquick) does the trick in these savory biscuits, with the addition of Cheddar cheese, garlic, parsley, onion and water.

Love these. But in order for them to be Cheddar BAY Biscuits you need to add Old Bay seasoning.

When you use vegetable juice cocktail in a simple, fast biscuit instead of milk, you'll get a rosy, tender, savory treat.

These are a delicious cross between a roll and a biscuit. You roll them out like a biscuit, and they rise like a roll.
