This is a personal recipe of a great salad, and bonus... it can be made in advance, a family fav.

My question fits here: if I want to keep something warm for transport, is putting it in the crock pot's insulated case helpful? Newspapers and towels a la Aunt Bee?

I'm sure that would be fine Emeralds. Just depending on how far the transport whether or not it will keep it warm. Because a crock pot base is already hot and so the insulation just helps it not lose it's heat as fast keeping the food warm. without the actually crock pot and only using the insulated case it wouldn't keep it as warm for as long.

One summer I combined my love for onions with a bumper crop of tomatoes and a homemade balsamic dressing. The result was this salad that receives thumbs-up approval whenever it's served. -Robert Golus of Greer, South Carolina

Another option for an easy dessert, just be sure to read the reviews, especially the one about boiling for 5 minutes

I made this recently but was skeptical. I turned out great. Everyone loved it! It grows better with time so good to make a day or two ahead of time.**I made the whipped topping and left it on the side for people to dollop on their individual piece once cut. If you choose to spread it over the cake I would wait to spread it until just before serving.

I realize that strawberries and balsamic vinegar sounds really gross - but served with vanilla pudding, it is really good
